A Hopi from Third Mesa, HARRY BERT is in his mid-40's and has been carving Katsinas for many years. He is very versatile and is willing to carve many different kinds of Katsinas. Mr. Bert carves in traditional cottonwood root and colors with acrylic paint.

Bert Kachina, KHB7-7

Titled "Corn Boy" this Harry Bert Katsina doll stands 11 and 1/2 inches tall. Carved all from a single piece of cottonwood and hand colored. Harry likes leave some of the natural wood showing, so we can see the grain of the tree.

Chasing Star Katsina, KMCH$2000

There are over 200 Hopi spiritual figures. "Chasing Star" katsina is one of the most beautiful, also called Na-ngasho is by Hopi carver Harry Bert of Third Mesa. Showing up at the Bean Dances Procession, he has a large impressive Eagle plum fan behind his head. This wonderfully detailed piece is 17 inches tall.
