Hopi
We are uncertain of the name of this Katsina doll, but, the colors are bright pigment based colors, and he has a Hopi skirt on and brown dancing boots. The doll stands 12 inches tall, including the feathers. In one hand he holds a rattle and in the other he has a dance stick.

"Koyemsi"- is the Mudhead Katsina that was originally borrowed from the Zuni tribe. The Mudhead is a clown who plays with the children and jokes around with the adults. This Katsina has a turquoise rattle in one hand and a feather in the other.

Qoqole Katchina arrives in December, to "open" up the Kivas for the other Katsinas. This dancer has a spruce bough neck piece and bird wings as part of his mask. A rattle in one hand and a dance stick in the other. He is meant to be hung on the wall.

An early example of the Hunter Katsina. This doll stands 4 1/2 inches tall, is formed from a single block of wood, and has pigment and feathers to identify his character.

Traditionally all Katsina were simple wooden forms standing stiffly. They were pigment painted and were meant to be be hung on the wall in the child's room. This Cloud Katsina is an excellent example of these early dolls.
