This beautiful Ganado floor weaving was probably woven in the 1950's. The weaving is made entirely of handspun wool yarn using aniline dyes. The weaver is, unfortunately, unknown. This piece was used as a floor weaving and is worn smooth, but is in excellent condition and has dozens of years of use remaining. In fact, it has the beautiful patina of an antique piece that can't be duplicated.
The original owner of the weaving is unknown, but the second owner was a film producer who lived in Aspen, Colorado. When he changed the focus of his collecting to antique blankets in the 1970's Toh-Atin Gallery was given the opportunity to market this weaving. We sold it to a Wyoming family in 1974. They have decided to resell the weaving and we are delighted to be able to again offer it to our customers.
