Bone
Durango arts and craftsman Eric Hodges creates these detailed one of a kind Knife and Sheath sets. Truly a collectors item for the sportsman. The deer skin is saddle fringe laced, the turquoise is inlaid and the blade is hand forged. An amazing amount of work and talent in each piece. The knife is 12 inches long and the total height is 18 inches tall.
Resourceful, innovative and creative are words that aptly describe the North American, native peoples. The sculpture pictured is a mixed media piece, depicting a seal hunt. The seal is fossil ivory, the hunter is fossil bone, and the stand is fossilized sled runner. All these materials were found on the shores of the island of St. Lawrence, Alaska. This small sculpture has a lot of character.
