Our geometric weavings include those weavings we cannot place under any of the other listings, including those fine pieces that are Hispanic, rather than Navajo.

Hispanic Weavings
 
The Saltillo or serape wearing blankets worn by the Spanish were a direct influence on the designs of the Navajo weavers. These original blankets are long and narrow and woven in two pieces and sewn
 
Sashes are woven on a narrow belt loom and are generally worn by the Navajo and Pueblo women to cinch in their dresses.

Circa 1920 This is an Oregon City Woolen Mill blanket. The 1920's was the height of the companies success. This blanket measures 30 inches by 46 inches.

Each side of this weaving has a different design. The colors in this weaving are vegetal dyes. It measures 42 inches by 28 inches.

This is an exceptional weaving that is made with the traditional colors of red, blue, black, and white. It measures 35 inches by 58 inches.

Moki Blanket, C003457

Circa 1875. This is an exquisite Moki style weaving. It is in excellent condition with no visible repair. The indigo is a very deep blue and the brown is wonderful handspun wool. The red is mixture of Germantown yarn and handspun wool. This weaving measures 70 inches by 59 inches.

The yellow wool in this weaving has been dyed with rabbit brush. It comes with a strip of velcro sewn on making this weaving ready to hang. It measures 28 inches by 38 inches.

Navajo child's dress. This piece has a coarse and thick feel. Essentially this is made of two rugs sown together. It measures 36 inches by 20 1/2 inches.

Circa 1950. This weaving is made from handspun wool. It is coarse and rough to the touch and would make a great floor weaving. This weaving measures 59 inches by 35 inches.

Gallup Throw,  C2379

Gallup throws were made popular by the railroads. Many shops along the railroad would sell these little weavings so people could have something to put in their suitcases as they travel. This weaving measures 37 inches by 19 inches.
