Saltillos

The Saltillo or serape wearing blankets worn by the Spanish were a direct influence on the designs of the Navajo weavers. These original blankets are long and narrow and woven in two pieces and sewn together with a hole left in the center for the head.

Saltillo

This is an old Mexican Saltillo from the late 1920s, in good condition. Saltillos were woven in two pieces and connected in the center. This one is 100 percent wool, with lovely colored threads embroidered through it for added design.
