Raised Outline Weavings

This is an amazing Yei weaving. It is a raised outline weaving which measures 33 inches by 68 inches.
Two in One weavings are one of the most specialized weavings around. There are two weavings woven onto one loom. It takes talent to keep the designs in order. It measures 42 inches by 27 inches.
"Storm Raised Outline Four in One"- Raised outline weaving has a four in one, the four Storms are woven in vegetal and aniline pastel colors of peach, cream, turquoise, sage, plum and rose. Raised Outline rugs require extra weft threads, extra time and extra talent. Each side of the weaving has a different look, one is brighter in color and the other is more muted and appears not to be in focus. Susie Begay was born in 1937 in the Blue Canyon area, and has been actively weaving since the 1950's. Susie has created this lovely example of this exceptional weaving technique.
Raised Outline weavings come from Coal Mine Mesa area. The doubling of the wefts on one side create a luminescent effect. Often vegetal dyed, this weaving has shades of ocher, cream, gray and black. The over all combination creates almost a green color.
Rosita Manygoats chose a beautiful combination of colors in this raised outline weaving. It is 32 inches by 48 inches.
