Early Regional styles tended to be simpler in design then we think of them today. This early Teec Nos Pos is a perfect example of that. The rug is woven of all natural colors, in brown, gray, tan and cream, except for a simple green line that runs between the border and the center design. Measuring close to 5 by 7 feet and in very good condition, this is an excellent collectors weaving.
Featured is a 1960's vegetal dyed Navajo rug. A very pretty Wide Ruins weaving, all in soothing, soft colors, including a nice, delicate teal, much like the old style pieces. This one is valued at $1,500.
Hand spun wool Storm Pattern weaving measuring approximately 3 feet by 5 feet. This simple older rug has all the elements of a classic Storm weaving the Four Sacred Mountain Ranges, lightning, Waterbugs, everything that comes with desert rains.
Large hand spun wool Navajo weaving, dating from the 1960's. Measuring approx. 5 feet by 9 feet, this is a perfect floor rug. The striking colors and design are typical of the Geometric style. This weaving is in excellent condition.
Fancy Sunday Saddle Blanket- This saddle blanket is in excellent condition, and has all of its fringe. Fanciful colors and the star design make it very unique. Measuring 36 inches by 26 inches.
Twill Saddle blanket- In white, brown and black, measuring 25 inches by 25 inches. This is a double weave. Display your favorite saddle on it, or using for riding your favorite horse.
Saddle blanket measures 29 inches by 29 1/2 inches. Natural and vegetal dyes, in browns, blacks, red, gray and that great Gallup throw orange.
Generally speaking Navajo rugs do not have fringe! A few exception to the rule are, saddle blankets and Gallup throws. This sweet little weaving probably falls in to the later category. Measuring 17 inches by 30 inches long of hand spun wool in natural colors and a pretty red.
Well used single saddle blanket. Saddle Blanket has some condition issues and home repair done to it, but would make a nice addition to a display of Native American crafts.
