Santa Domingo Pottery
Tsigowanu Kwa Povi is from the Pueblos of San Juan and Santa Clara. Her small seed jars are sgraffito images and have cabochons of turquoise on them. Featured is a seed jar with a roadrunner that has a snake in it's beak. The redware jar is polished and fired and then has a carved design on the surface. This jar is 2 inches tall.
Paulita Pacheco began making pottery in 1971. She is the granddaughter of Clementa and Nescita Calabaza, and daughter of Juanita C. Tenorio. She has won lsts and 2nds at Santa Fe Indian Market, and shown in a number of pottery exhibitions. Her pottery is in the Smithsonian and the Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
