Regional Style Rugs (1940-Present) are also called Geographical Style. The Teec Nos Pos area is in Utah and this style was heavily influenced by the patterns of Oriental rugs, the Navajo weavers liked the balance and patterns. Measuring 53 inches by 75 inches this size is uncommon today, a fabulous weaving with great rich colors.

Exquisite Teec Nos Pos weaving by Nellie Bitsui of Chinle, Arizona. Born in 1935, Nellie has been weaving since the 1950's and she is known for the Teec style. The featured weaving is in a beautiful palette of natural shades of the wool with touches of sage green. Measuring close to 3 and 1/2 feet by 6 feet, this is a large weaving and a superb collectors piece.

Betty has been actively weaving since 1970, and has been awarded for her fine work at the Inter-tribal Indian Ceremonial in Gallup, New Mexico. Rain is essential to the Native people, it brings water for the corn, the stable and one of the four sacred plants of the South west.
