J.D. Roybal was born in 1922, at San Ildefonso Pueblo in New Mexico.
J.D. painted in the traditional pueblo style, while adding touches that are distinctively his own. He used symbolic themes with realism and usually added a touch of humor. His sense of detail, beautiful color and gesturing figures make his work delightful and collectible.
