This is a very sophisticated, contemporary interpretation of several different old regional styles. Denium lapis carved bird by Zuni artist Delvin Leekya. Lots of detail in the feathers and inlaid turquoise eyes. Probably a stylized Eagle. Eagle represents vision, intuition, and creativity.
Perched on a turquoise arrow head this abalone bird has extra protection with the "Spirit Bundle". Providing food, water, air and earthly protection. Measuring 1 1/2 inches long.

Yup'ik carver Melcher Oozevesook has carved and painted this King Eider out of Walrus ivory. Measuring 2 1/4 inches long.
Zuni carving of a bird on a tree with something in it's mouth. It is signed on the bottom, PLUTE ZUNI. The fetish is carved out of antler.
Tsigowanu Kwa Povi is from the Pueblos of San Juan and Santa Clara. Her small seed jars are sgraffito images and have cabochons of turquoise on them. Featured is a seed jar with a roadrunner that has a snake in it's beak. The redware jar is polished and fired and then has a carved design on the surface. This jar is 2 inches tall.
Woodpecker carved out of Walrus tusk ivory, stands 1 1/4" tall. You can see the detail in the birds feathers, and his black jet eyes.
