Crosses
Ella Rose Perry is one of the few weavers working today that still herds, shears, spins and vegetal dyes all her wool that she weaves with. Featured is a weaving that is handspun of Churro wool with a touch of mohair. The yellow dye is made of rabbit brush. Ella's weavings feel luxurious, and her colors are soft and subtle. She is a master of Navajo weaving and this lovely weaving would be a great piece to add to any collection of classic Navajo weavings.
Pictured is a Navajo rug with several different style in one weaving. It is being called a Geometric and it has the influences of early Klagetoh, Ganado and Crystal. There are a few condition issues in the rug, like, a little bleeding of the red and some small repair areas. It would make a wonderful wall hanging regardless, with it's sophisticated design and classic colors.
Sculpture artist Joe Cajero is diverse in his subject matter and the size of the work he produces, but all his pieces are rooted in nature and spirituality. "Natural Divinity" has a touching story of love and harmony. Stars at the top represent the heavens. Dragonflies are the male essence and butterflies the feminine. The bottom panel has steps, the second has circles and the third panel waves symbolizing water's life giving forces. Joe has written a story of the inspirations that influenced this piece, and that story is included with the sculpture. The Cross may be hung on the wall or a stand can be purchased for an additional $ 90.00.
