Jemez Pueblo
Sculpture artist Joe Cajero creates works of art in bronze and clay. This Koshari is hand sculpted clay, decorated with natural pigments, beads, and a beaded necklace. The drum he is seated on is sold separately for $20.00.
"In The Distance" by Jemez sculpture art and potter Joe Cajero. Joe learned to make pottery from his mother, in the Pueblo style of natural clay, dug up at the Pueblo and pigments mixed from natural clays from the area.
Mary Louise Eteeyan is a self taught potter. She learned by observing other potters in her village at Jemez. Mary Louise is known for her beautiful signature Butterfly design, it appears on all her vases and lidded pots. The featured wedding vase is made from the clay she dug on her pueblo. All her pottery is hand work clay, hand coiled, and fired in the traditional manner in an outdoor pit.
Collectors have taken notice of this fine potter Emma Yepa. She has been awarded and featured in art publications for her high quality of craftsmanship.Featured is a red and buff melon swirl jar. This takes great skill to mix the two colors of clay, to swirl the design and to create the raised melon ridges. Emma works this pot with Marcella Yepa. Measuring 6 inches in diameter and 11 1/4 inches tall.

Glendora Fragua Daubs is the daughter of Juanita Fragua. They are of the Corn Clan, the very talented family of Jemez potters. This 2 inch egg shaped seed pot is highly detailed, incised sgrafito. Glendora collects her own clay and mineral slips to make and decorate her award winning designs. The lizard and all the geometric designs are perfectly carved, on to a pot that has been fired. This Mimbres lizard has a cabochon of Lapis on its back. Signed with her signature corn stalk with dots on each side.
Chris Fragua's storytellers are meant to make you smile. Here we have two Koshari clowns riding on the back of a buffalo. One is holding on to the tail and they are both enjoying themselves.
