Nancy Young's " Convocations" is a celebration of a ceremonial assembly. We see figures and shamans, animals, and symbols for water, sun and the moon. Nancy pays homage to the ancient people, and their art work that is found in the caves and rock walls of the south west. Her works are full a life and wonder.
Nancy Young recreates icons and symbols from the past, echoes... cast in paper. Young has been elbow deep in paper pulp for close to 30 years and she finds the medium challenging, engaging and inspiring. Family Reunion- is framed by Nancy and has a 3 1/2" matting and frame chosen by her to compliment the work.
Nancy Young has been making paper for a long time. Her work is always evolving. Nancy does all her own matting and framing ensuring a complementary combination of art, and presentation.
